I've always wanted to undertake a project like this but didn't have the stamina. So kudos to you. A wonderful journey you've undertaken for the rest of us. Because of this essay, I reacquainted myself with myself (I'm 71) by revisiting Marvin Gaye whom my gang loved at the time but have since left sadly behind. And Pet Sounds? The Beatle's love of what the Beach Boys were doing opened them up for me.

But what a long, strange trip this essay was . . . and the music it covered. Many thanks!
